Benefits of IMF Internship Program 2023 for Young Professionals
- All successfully selected candidates will be enrolled in a 10-12 week paid internship between June and October 2023. The date of the internship will be agreed upon between the intern and the IMF supervisor at the time of offer.
- This year, the internship will be in person at IMF headquarters in Washington DC.
- Interns will conduct research and analysis on a topic assigned by the Fund under the guidance of an experienced IMF fellow. The intern’s work may develop into a research paper and be published internally.

Eligibility Criteria for IMF Internship Program for Eligible Young Professionals
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be able to compete for the IMF Internship Program
Ph.D. the students
- He should be within one to two years of completing his Ph.D. Macroeconomics or related field.
- Must have student status during internship (i.e. continuing PhD studies after internship).
- Candidates must fulfill the required age above 32 at the time of commencement of internship.
- Excellent command of English (written and verbal) is a major requirement.
- Candidates are also expected to have commanding analytical, quantitative and computer skills.
Masters student
- To be eligible, the student must have completed a master’s degree in macroeconomics or a related field.
- Expected to be below 28 years at the time of commencement of internship
- Must also have an excellent command of English (written and verbal).
- Masters student applicants must have strong analytical, quantitative and computer skills.
